Bus-Stops!

Patience is something I am always struggling to work on. And this i believe is the very reason that I usually have to wait for the longest time for things to happen and promises to be fulfilled! Recently, even though I have received clear direction and assurance from God, I felt like the waiting was like “forever” (though it has been not that long!) haha! So I was challenged to remember Sarah and Abraham! Man-look at their lives and their stories! I can’t blame Sarah in a sense for taking things into her own hands to “help” God with the promise! And when her actions caused a lot of problems, she blamed poor Abraham (ok guys, I don need to hear your shouts of exaltation!). So anyway, I am definately NOT going to try to “help” God do anything to fulfil the promises spoken into my life! I am just encouraged to note that Waiting is part of being STILL. Sigh! Wish there was an easier way, but I know this is all a part of my journey!

We wait to receive the Promise, we wait for the assurance that we heard correctly, then we wait for the fulfilment and then we wait for the fruition of the promise! That’s a mighty lot of waiting! Maybe i just stop driving and start taking the bus again! That really develops patience! I need to get a fresh perspective on the bus-stop mentality! Sigh! That’s why grandma’s clever quote meant a lot to me!

God orders our STEPS and especially our STOPS!

Steps and Stops!

It has been a while (again) since I wrote. Too many things have had be running around in circles but today has been such a wonderful restful respite from the mad rush! Yesterday’s cell hosts dinner went off well (I think!!) despite having so many glitches that could have could have been catastrophic! But as usual, Jesus always comes through for us as we just do our best! haha! Thank you Jesus!

Today was a great day catching up with the aunties and shopping with them! A relaxing and fulfilling day out! I needed a day like today!

There has been one too many funerals. Last week, we lost another Botswana student to a car accident. He had been driving too fast and crashed into a divider. It was a tragedy that could and should have been avoided. The other four in the car have since been discharged from the hospital. One underwent surgery to place metal plates in his leg. Will the students finally take heed? What more needs to be done on our parts as pastors and ministers to prevent these incidents from recurring?

On Saturday as we prayed during the 4pm prayer, a “dam” burst within my spirit. I just cried and cried. We had just done a small service just before the remains were sent back home! My soul was weary and burdened. I was filled with thoughts – what if I had done a little bit more… What if I had gone 3 miles instead of 2? After crying the Lord gentled and stilled my spirit. It was a call to pull up socks and tighten up things! The harvest needs the workers! We need to position and train the workers that God is calling in!

Meanwhile-before i forget to write this down-today we also went through some of grandma’s things and the aunties gave me first choice of Grandma’s sarees! Yay! I took two of the sarees (as a keepsake) and They also let me have her bible! Wow! I shall treasure her bible which she read so diligently! There are many notes and the like in her bible, and a piece fell out and I was struck by the quotation she had written upon it! “God orders our STEPS and also our STOPS!” This has been ringing in my head and it is so true! Must always take time to stop in our steps and listen to our God! Wow! Grandma still speaks to me even now! I am also so happy because aunties gave me one of grandma’s rings! Sigh! I love special keepsakes like this!

Ok time to STOP writing. All that needs to be done is to pray, listen for Instructions and tell God “Bring it on!” (This was part of an exciting sermon on Saturday!). Bring it on Jesus!
