African Nite, etc

The longer I stay “away” from this blog, it usually means ministry has really gotten a little crazy! What happened now? The whole week was a hive of activity as we were preparing for the African Nite! Tracting, worship practice, transport arrangements, food preparations etc. And amdst this was the Christmas party of one of the International cells on the Friday. So it was an already insane week (in a good sense! hahah!!) Then on Tuesday-I was handed an assignment to take a youth cell conference at a local church! So it was preparation of materials etc as well for this 4hour training! Yipes! Really was cranking the gears and getting all excited. In case I ever wondered for a moment-I Still LOVE the thrill of adrenalin coursing thru my veins when things get all crazy like this! Woo hoo! I just have to stop and realise that not everyone gets a high like me,..some actually get tired (hmm….so strange don’t you think?! Heehee!) Anyway amidst all this fast paced activity there were many funerals that were happening as aunt’s. cousins and grandaunt’s went home to jesus. The last post i made was on the night of the 26th (ie the morning of the 27th).

Things took a turn on the morning of the 27th. I received a call to tell me that yet another young man had jumped to his death at the very same college. This makes 3 in a span of 29 days from the same hostel/college. My heart truly breaks. I attended another church member’s funeral before heading over to the hostel. Throughout the funeral I was filled so many thoughts and wondering how else do I speakhope and assurance to students. To my ears it seems almost like a “line” that I am feeding these students. Almost like a “pat” answer which doesn’t work when too many such incidents have happened.

That night i discovered that I had just met the deceased guy on the Friday before. Shook me a bit as I met the other jumper just 4 days before he died. So many thoughts run thru my mind. As I prayed for the peace, i know that logically I could not have done any thing. However-I am now so conscious that every chance encounter may be so essential. I am not being paranoid, just being mindful and alert. Lots to learn in the ministry.

The school authorities allowed a platform to share with the students not a memorial message but I felt God prompt me on 4 points for them. Then challenged about making right decisions and seeking the right help. Students were hungry for a message of hope and love. They turned up in full force on Saturday at the African Nite. WOW! Souls were saved! Believe lives were touched! Lot’s to followup but such great joy! More 230am airport visits have led me to “burn” the candle at both ends which has resulted in my looking like a chinese panda!

Glory to God! 230 Africans turned up. Almost 500 people came. 20 souls! It is all about Jesus! We had a blast just dancing along! Watch this video!

Now will go to KLIA to send the remains of the late Kgothatso. Also to see some students (yeah the 230am flight). As u read this, please pray for his family who will probably on receive his remains on Friday due to the long journey from the capital city to the Kalahari desert where his family resides. Pray also for the students that they will be strong and also for God to send a revival amongst them.

Tomorrow I have decided to take leave to rest and do some “normal” things! I am planning to bake some cookies or just bake a cake! Starting to cook again! My Pork Pot Roast last Sunday was a hit as the pork was so tender and yummy-licious! Bring it on!
