Unmovable & Unshakable

This has been a season of my life where nothing seems familiar or rather things are looking rather peculiar. Through these times, I have been discovering different and new sides of the persona of me! Haha! I am growing in ministry and maturity in a very different way which is probably part of the call being unfolded. (Yeah-God still has not “downloaded” the whole picture..perhaps my minuscule mind cant handle all of it just yet! haha!)
In the midst of me seeking for answers for this situation/new phase of life,  a word was spoken and dropped into my heart! Wow! My Heavenly Daddy is OVERFLOWING with love for me!
“Stand firm and do not be moved. Be unmovable in the Lord. Do not let anything move you. Nobody will laugh at you and neither will the enemy laugh at you. Your labour in the Lord will not be in vain, only do not be moved.”
The song that immediately leaped into my mind is this one …(an old old gospel song!) I will not be moved or shaken. No matter what I go thru at this stage my Heavenly Daddy will take me thru it and I will not be swayed to the right or left.
I will press on unshaken and unmoved from the narrow road.

I shall not, I shall not be moved.
I shall not, I shall not be moved.
Like a tree planted by the water, I shall not be…

On my way to glory, I shall not be moved
On my way to glory, I shall not be moved
Like a tree planted by the water, I shall not be moved.

On my way to heaven, I shall not be moved.
On my way to heaven, I shall not be moved
Like a tree planted by the water, I shall not be moved.

The Late Uncle Tan Huck Gay

Tonight despite the storm I will make my way to a dear friend’s dad’s wake service. I have known this family for at least 23 years! I remember Uncle who jogged all over section 5 rain or shine. He was fitter then most youngsters ou age. Thru the years, though my friend left to study abroad and eventually worked there, I saw the family weekly in church.

The parents always had a ready smile and it was hard not to return the smile. In fact it was a smile that almost demanded a hug – that is the kind of people they are. They attended my graduation and brought gifts. Their joy and jubilation was almost as though I was their daughter. This couple battled thru the ups and downs of life clinging on to Jesus. Despite getting on in years, this couple cooked for the Lifezone Drug Rehab cente once a month (and also for the church staff at times). Their generosity in sowing time and love touches everyone to the very core.

Tonight I will be there to pay my final respects to the late Uncle Tan Huck Gay – a valiant man who marched his faith and walked his talk with an uncompromising stance.

How will Auntie Helena be? After living with your lifelong companion for more than 60 years, how will it be like? I pray that our wonderful tender comforter and friend will be her constant companion in the days and nights to come. Holy Spirit do be with her. May I too be a blessing and be mindful of them as they have been of me and countless others.

May my light shine as bright as Uncle Tan’s did.  The heavens are rejoicing at the homecoming of such a man of God. Till it is my turn, I will keep running my own race knowing that I am cheered on by such a great cloud of witnesses!
